I work hard on my driving every day.  It is one of the few areas in my life where I am extremely self-disciplined and rigorous in my effort.  I sometimes get great joy out of driving, but constant practice dampens my fun but keeps my skills sharp.  This becomes apparent when you ride with me.  I have friends that ask for play-by-plays and tell me that people who have never ridden with me are missing out.  

Some days, my hard work pays off and I’m very impressed with myself.  I’ll stay cool and collected during an amazing maneuver and know that if I had done it any other way, or if it had been any other person I know driving, the result would have been inferior.  Wednesday was one of those days.  

This should have been a 50mph dead-on t-bone.  Instead, it was a 25-30mph glancing blow.  All due to awareness, anticipation, and control.  Stay safe and aware out there!
